Thermi Spa, Bad Schinznach

Bad Schinznach AG, 2011 | Tag der offenen Türe 10.2011 | Reportage

At the end of October 2011, Bad Schinznach AG was able to open its new wellness facility “Thermi Spa” to the public. In addition to the “Aquarena fun”, which was also expanded in the course of this renovation, the “Thermi Spa” now includes a comprehensive range of beauty and wellness services.

The Hofrats building, which is a listed historical building, together with the new wellness offers, forms the “Thermi Spa”. The historic cellar area was expanded with vaults made of natural stone and is now a hamam with cocon steam bath, Kneipp basin and atmospheric atrium. Spectacular is also the top floor, which offers a relaxation room with gallery, a Finnish sauna and a bio sauna. An attractive outdoor area has been designed along the Hofrats building. The monolithic whirlpool made of Onsernone granite separates and at the same time connects the cold and warm basins, which are lined with granite. Along these pools is the sun deck and a generously designed outdoor area.

The existing “Aquarena fun” area was expanded with a grotto slide, a waterfall and a 25m pool (cold pool). This new pool offers the possibility of sports swimming in thermal water in winter.

Kannewischer Ingenieurbüro AG was responsible for the technical planning and construction management for heating, ventilation, sanitation, pool water systems, thermal water and special equipment in the pools.
